Smart notes from elsewhere #5
On changing our mental maps, ghosting, phrases for setting boundaries, the science of blushing, and more
Hello, friends -
Summer trips always mean a “stack” of print, ebooks, and audiobooks packed to come along with us. I’ve recently finished Jennifer Raff’s Origin, Susan Orleans’ The Library Book, and Sebastian Junger’s In My Time of Dying, Salman Rushdie’s Knife, and a re-read of Doris Kearns Goodwin’s Team of Rivals. I found them all totally absorbing. And I’m ready for some lighter reading, particularly fiction, for August. Please comment to let me know what you recommend.
These selections caught my attention lately. I share them here for those of you who may not regularly visit my online Notes:
Take care of each other,
